Mean Mother has released its first-ever traction board. Available in three variants, the top-spec Ultimate series and, according to Exitrax the board has been shaped to make the engagement angle as small as possible. The boards have ground-engagement-teeth to reduce board movement during the recovery process. The nodules have been spaced and shaped to work with lowered tyre pressures. This is important, the company claims, because if there are too many nodules too close together, instead of creating traction, it just creates a flat, low-traction surface. Exitrax claims that when boards are stacked, they have the lowest stack height than the two competitor brands they compared them with. Exitrax offers a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty.

A large vehicle requires a large fuel tank, and currently, the RAM 1500 Laramie doesn’t have that. That’s all changed thanks to the 190-litre fuel tank from Long Range Automotive. Fuel capacity jumps from 98 to 190 litres. This long-range fuel tank provides greater flexibility for the growing number of RAM owners who choose to go touring, and particularly those who tow large caravans. According to LRA, the larger tank it doesn’t affect the rampover or departure angle of the RAM 1500.
