SCOTT’S RANGER
The Ford Ranger is the most popular 4X4 in Australia at the moment and we reckon Scott’s is pretty cool. He’s gone with TJM gear all round, a Chaser bar on the front, rock sliders down each side and a TJM rear bar. It runs Mickey Thompson all-terrain ATZ P3 305/55R20 tyres. To light up the night, Scott’s fitted four Lightforce Strikers across the Chaser bar along with a 40-inch Lightforce light bar across the front of his pioneer platform roof rack. Underneath he got the guys at Adrenaline Offroad Narellan to fit it with Tough Dog suspension and, while they were at it, a set of Roadsafe Blackhawk upper control arms. SAM’S HILUX
Sam is the proud new owner of this 2009 HiLux, having owned it for a little over six-months now. When he purchased the HiLux it had a canopy, ARB bulbar, winch, and drawers – a good starting point. Sam has since fitted spotlights, roof rack with an LED bar, UHF along with an LED headlight conversion as well. Sam’s goal is to have it entirely set up to take on Cape York. In the coming months, he’s looking to have it lifted and fitted with a dual-battery set up, so he can head to the bush in comfort.
KIERAN’S MK PATROL
Kieran’s 1986 MK Patrol was a bit of a time-warp 4X4; one owner, untouched factory turbo-diesel with 140,000km. Unfortunately, on his last trip, the head gasket blew and initiated a rebuild. He started with the driveline which now sports front and rear ARB air lockers. Following that the engine copped a full nut and bolt restoration. While it was stripped down, a new billet high-flow turbo was fitted along with new pistons. The MK Patrol has also received a three-inch straight through exhaust, genuine Nissan rock sliders and a Kaymar bar on the rear. Underneath there’s a 50-litre water tank, 180-litre main fuel tank and a custom 70-litre sub-tank. It's still being worked on... we can't wait to share the full build with you soon. PETER’S PATROL
Peter is a tourer and loves to explore places you can only get to with a 4WD, so he has set his Patrol up for just that. It’s a 1999 model with a TD4.2ST and the thing has given Peter 395,000kms of reliable service. But it’s far from stock. It’s got a two-inch lift, snorkel and BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2s. An ARB bull bar and winch, and a Kaymar twin spare wheel rear bar were the second round of mods. There are LED light bars everywhere and in the back are a rear draw, fridge slide, as well as a dual-battery system. To keep the stock engine happy, Peter fitted an aftermarket radiator and a front air locker. Peter, we love that you’re getting to tour this great country of ours in your well setup Patrol.
